Fair Oaks Ranch

My parents moved to Fair Oaks Ranch in 1982, and this is where I grew up. I love this place more than most can understand. As a kid, I explored every square inch of the ranch before most of the houses were even built. I discovered flowing springs, found arrowheads, and caught a lot of fish in the Cibolo Creek. That's why in 2008 when I found a house for sale along the Cibolo, I had to have it....it was my dream house! I came back home (we were in Alamo Heights at the time) to my wife and told her I found our next house. My wife was pregnant and we had decided to stay put for a couple years before finding a bigger house, so we weren't even looking to move. However, I had to have this house! One thing led to another, and sure enough, we were headed back to the place I grew up. There aren't quite the same amount of 'woods' that there use to be, but I am thrilled to have my son grow up in the same community as I did. I hope he can appreciate where we're at as much as I do, and enjoy fishing and exploring the Cibolo Creek in his own backyard (it use to be a LONG bike ride for me). Anyway, I thought I'd write a blog about Fair Oaks and just say whatever I feel like saying....hope you enjoy.
